Performance

KFire was introduced to the art of fire dancing on a moonlit beach one magickal summer's eve in 2002. That fateful night sparked an ever-growing obsession with the fire element that led her into the creative realms of both circus and magick.

After a couple years of intense training, KFire hegan performing and teaching fire arts professionally in 2004. Being based until recently in the San Francisco Bay Area, she taught fire arts classes at Cellspace, The Crucible, and the Sophia Healing Center in addition to teaching hundreds of students through her own classes and private llessons.

KFire has co-founded three fire circus troupes, Coven, Dreamtime Circus, and Cirkus of Eternal Night. She formed Coven in 2004 with dance partner Leticia Gravitania, and they performed reguarly in the Bay Area until 2006. During this time, she also performed with other San Francisco-based fire troupes and performers at festivals such as The Crucible's Annual Fire Arts Festival and Burning Man Festival.

In 2006, along with Chris Dunn, she co-founded the Dreamtime Circus, a charitable circus organization that brings free circus shows and workshops to underpriveleged communities and youth around the world. So far, Dreamtime has completed two successful international tours, partnering with local community and environmental organizations to bring circus magic to villages, slums, schools and orphanages. Dreamtime toured in India from October 2007 through March 2008, and in Peru from February through May 2010. Dreamtime recently merged with another San Francisco-based charitable circus group called VagaBOOM, which provides free after-school circus programs for low-income communities in the Bay Area. Together the two groups form the non-profit Living Dream Arts.

The Cirkus of Eternal Night is a side-project which explores the darker, sexier side of fire circus.

In addition to teaching and performing, KFire continues to explore the magical qualities of the fire element. She is particularly interested in its ability to effect positive transformations in people's mental, spiritual, and physical health. She participates regularly in shamanic ceremonies that work with the healing spirit of fire, in addition to creating her own fire dance rituals, altars, and mandalas.

The fire element has been a great source of beauty, power, and inspiration for KFire and she hopes to share that with all those she works, plays, and dances with.
