Performance

KFire was introduced to the art of fire dancing on a moonlit beach one magickal summer's eve in 2002. That fateful night sparked an ever-growing obsession with the fire element that led her into the creative realms of both circus and magick.

After a couple years of intense practice, KFire hegan performing and teaching fire arts professionally in 2004. Being based until recently in the San Francisco Bay Area, she taught fire arts classes at Cellspace, the Crucible, and the Sophia Healing Center in addition to teaching hundreds of students through her own classes and private llessons. She is currently teaching at the Seco Pearl, a collectively-run cafe, cultural center, and living community in Arroyo Seco, just outside of Taos New Mexico.

KFire has co-founded two fire circus troupes, Coven and Dreamtime Circus. She formed Coven in 2004 with her dance partner, Leticia Gravitania, and they performed reguarly in the Bay Area until 2006, including at the Crucible's annual Fire Arts Festival. In 2005, along with Chris Dunn, she co-founded the Dreamtime Circus, a charitable circus organization that brings free circus shows and workshops to underpriveleged communities and youth around the world. Dreamtime toured India from October 2007 through March 2008, partnering with local community and environmental organizations to bring circus magick to villages, slums, schools and orphanages around the country. The next Dreamtime Tour will be in Peru and Ecuador from January to April 2010.

In addition to teaching and performing, KFire continues to explore the magickal qualities of the fire element, particularly its ability to effect positive transformations in people's mental, spiritual, and physical health. She has participated in fire-walking and trance dancing ceremonies in addition to creating her own fire dance rituals and altars. Recently she has begun making fire mandalas for ritualistic healing purposes.

The fire element has been a great source of beauty, power, and inspiration for KFire and she hopes to share that with all those she works, plays, and dances with.
